Produced by Chicago filmmaker Madeline Tourtelot, the 75' work shows Partch's hand-built orchestra of instruments performing an African and Noh-inspired story in some of his most compelling music in his mature style. Please note this is the first transfer of the film to video: Enclosure VII includes the same film, digitally remastered and resynched. The video continues with the first release of The Music of Harry Partch, a 1968 San Diego KPBS-TV documentary featuring an outdoor performance of another Partch favorite, Daphne of the Dunes. Introduced by Will Ogden.
