One Sheet:

METAPHOR’S music is ambient, textural, electronic, possibly even world music. METAPHOR’s music is hard to describe, but fun to listen to. Strange Lives is a project inspired by live recordings made at the Cedar Cultural Center during METAPHOR’S stunning 1999 warm-up performance for German electronic music pioneer Roedelius. "Strange Lives" weaves electronic PVC pipes, French horn, electric guitar, bass, analog synthesizers, theremin, beats, and samples into a seamless blanket of haunting sound.

METAPHOR has been traveling the electronic music scene since 1991 and has survived fires, droughts, floods, poverty, fads, trends, toes in the lawn mower, nudity, and themselves…. METAPHOR’S live performances feature video projection, unique venues, diverse guest performers, and a great vibe that allows a space that people may ritualize to, dance to, or simply chill.

OUTSIGHT

At times stark and chilling and other times impressionistic and cinematic, Metaphor is a pendulum that swings artfully from slick dance sounds to eerie moods. - Tom Schulte
