Set inside the last watertight compartment of a recently sunk ore boat resting at the bottom of Lake Superior, Wreck explores the depths of physical and psychological endurance and human fortitude in the face of impending and inevitable loss. Wreck expresses cooperation and violence, compassion and obsession, and the ultimate question of how we face death. Many many thanks to the musicians Ð Pat, Laura, Michelle, Jacqueline and Peter Ð for the beautiful and creative contributions you made to Wreck; to Matthew Zimmerman for his artistry in editing and mixing and his dedication to the project; to Carl Flink for being a terrific collaborator and for creating powerful choreography, and to the dancers of Black Label Movement for the exquisite movement that inspired this music.
